JLB1557 | Ball Earth Maths (Series)
This four-part video series is intended to demonstrate how you can utilise mathematics to help prove (or disprove) various models used to explain and understand the earth on which we live.
In ‘Part One: Introduction’, I outline the aim and structure of the series, and give a brief background on how we came to be discussing this topic in the first place.
In ‘Part Two: Geometry’ I show how GEOMETRY can be used to calculate the ‘drop’ from the tangent line intersecting the earth at Point A, to the ‘dropped’ earth at Point B.
In ‘Part Three: Trigonometry’ I show how TRIGONOMETRY can be used to calculate the ‘drop’ from the tangent line intersecting the earth at Point A, to the ‘dropped’ earth at Point B.
In ‘Part Four: Obstruction’ I explain why the ‘drop’ formulas are limited in their practical use, and provide a more relevant formula which calculates OBSTRUCTION by factoring in observer height.
