Member Sesh: This Saturday (Nov 23) and Wednesday (Nov 27)
Hello friends,
We have TWO Member Sesh calls planned between now and the end of the month.
Saturday the 23rd from 7pm Plovdiv (5pm UK, midday US eastern)
Wednesday the 27th from 9pm Plovdiv (7pm UK, 2pm US eastern)
All topics on the table. Come along and discuss whatever you’d like.
Saturday the 23rd
We’ll be starting from 7pm Plovdiv time, which is 5pm UK, midday US eastern.
Wednesday the 27th
We’ll be starting from 9pm Plovdiv time, which is 7pm UK, 2pm US eastern.
For the Aussies
Obviously this won’t work well for Australians however I’ll be more than happy to schedule a Member Sesh as soon as an Aussie contacts me to organise a time.
The way these Member Sesh calls work is, a Member of the site lets me know they want to organise a call for a certain time, I set it aside and let the rest of the site know, and then we go from there.
Saturday is going ahead because TNG told me he will be free this Saturday.
Wednesday is booked in because Hilly told me he will be free that day.
I’ll bring along my soundboard and some news clips (and maybe even some patented JLB trivia).
I’m sure TNG will come armed with some of the insights from his recent Conversation series.
Hopefully Hilly wants to discuss some sync-related ideas (he was there on the Joe Alexander MDC).
If you can’t join us this time, don’t stress, I’ll get at least an hour or two on the record for each call and upload it within a day or two.
As usual, the times listed above are the nominal start times, you are welcome to arrive later, and if we’re still chatting, just join the audiochat room and join in.
The ‘Member Sesh’ format is a little different from the old Member Call format.
For example, the Member Sesh is meant to be more casual, more laid back, maybe a little more silly.
I record the Member Sesh calls with OBS rather than Discord, so editing is a PITA, therefore I don’t edit these as much.
They’re intended to be more free flowing, less like an actual podcast, if that makes sense.
The pilot episode was back in September:
Member Sesh #0 – Pilot (7-Sep-2024)
I listened back to this one a few weeks ago, it was a lot of fun, I hope that future episodes (including this weekend) can live up to it.
The first ‘official’ episode was a few weeks ago:
Member Sesh #01 – Flat Tire (26-Oct-2024)
We can arrange as many or as few of these Member Sesh as you like. It’s up to you.
I hope to see you on either Saturday (23-Nov) or Wednesday (27-Nov).
In case you missed it
Over the past two weeks I have uploaded a new trilogy of Sync-related presentations.
As I explained in the final piece of the series, I probably won’t be uploading any new sync material for a while.
There’s some brand new stuff in this trilogy which I still, to this day, can’t believe nobody has ever picked up on before…
JLBA #118c – Back to the Wizard (18-Nov-2024)
What do Back to the Future, Donald Trump, and The Wizard of Oz have in common?
JLBA #118b – Election Knight (14-Nov-2024)
Have you ever seen the original Back to the Future?
What I’m asking is, have you really seen it?
JLBA #118a – The Dark Knight’s Choice (5-Nov-2024)
Can ‘sync’ be used to accurately make predictions (ahead of time) about world events?
Why do some people want to return to the past, or refuse to let it go?
What does any of this have to do with tomatoes?
Back to the Future Predicts Trump’s Return
It isn’t often that I’ll put hours and hours into a YouTube video these days, but recently I made an exception.
YouTube – Back to the Future Predicts Trump’s Return (16-Nov-2024)
It took about seven or eight hours to create this, from first sitting down to write the script, through to pressing ‘publish’ on the youtube upload.
The feedback so far has been overwhelmingly positive, and those of you who know the background of ‘sync’ will probably realise why I’m happy that I finally put something like this together.
Bonversations
Last week I had the pleasure of chatting with two new guests for the Bonversations series:
FarceValue from Fakeologist dot com
Rambo from RealEyesRadio
The first hour of both is available via podbean / spotify / etc.
Bonversations #56 – FarceValue (11-Nov-2024)
Is it true that artistic / creative people tend to ‘lean left’ on the political spectrum?
Why are some folks in the ‘alternative’ corner of the internet so dogmatic about their beliefs?
What are the chances that the new (old) boss is going to be any better than the old (new) boss?
Bonversations #57 – Rambo (12-Nov-2024)
Why do we see so many amazing ‘coincidences’ in major sporting events?
How much of what we are shown on the news is CGI, deep fakery, holography, and so on?
If you were indeed living in a ‘video game’ (or ‘simulation’), would you really want to know?
for a couple of weeks, i was reluctant to even listen to the Duffy piece. despite being an avid listener, who wants to hear yet more rehashing for the umpteenth time of the urine drinker denying southern flights or David Weiss (insert issues)
truthers are not the terrain
but while the call was better than I thought it would be, Duffy dude thinks space is real, and that the moon is a place to land on and that humans landed on it, and i assume he also thinks Jesus Christ is his Lord and savior.
so in terms of ‘truth’ — i do wonder why there was zero pushback on him, while all of the heat was focused on the usual suspects.
the answer presumably is that it wasn’t the intent of the interaction, but all the same, he’s preaching nonsense to his congregation too.
so who is worse?
*now that i write this … i remember ‘Duffy’ beer being synonymous with The Simpsons / Homer
Hey, I was wondering if you could talk tomorrow about the coincidence that Scott Kelly, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and William Shatner will be in Antarctica at the same time as the Final Experiment.
What are the odds of that!
